Increasing use of privacy protection by domain name registrants can leave trademark owners uncertain how to proceed with unidentified cybersquatters.  One solution: a "john doe" ACPA action providing a basis for initial discovery from the registrars.  This procedure is similar to that used in the past by trademark litigators to combat couterfeiting, and was recently used by Microsoft against cyberquatters, according to this report from www.seattlepi.com.   more »
