ICANN is working on plans to allow operation of an unlimited number of Top Level Domains, or TLDs. View Article  $4.5 Million Awarded in Trademark Infringement and Telemarketing Fraud Suit
Janet Marvel and Jared Solovay of Pattishall, McAuliffe in Chicago, obtained a judgment for $4.5 million from the U.S. District Court of the Northern District of Illinois on behalf of their client Medline Industries, Inc. in Medline Industries, Inc. v. Strategic Commercial Solutions, Inc., et al., 07 CV 2783.

Defendants Strategic Commercial Solutions and Mohammed Abukhalid were found to have violated the Telemarketing and Consumer Fraud and Abuse Prevention Act, 15 U.S.C. § 6101 et seq., as well as committed trademark infringement by using Medline's name in connection with a fraudulent telemarketing scheme operated under the name Medline Savings.    more »

Brett August and Andrew Downer at Pattishall, McAuliffe obtained judgment for $2 million in trademark infringement litigation.

Judge Elaine Bucklo of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois today awarded over $2 million to Paxar Corporation, f/k/a Monarch Marking Systems and now a wholly-owned subsidiary of Avery Dennison Corp., in a lawsuit handled by Pattishall, McAuliffe. The award in this trademark infringement and unfair competition case was for damages, costs and attorneys' fees under a 1995 consent judgment against Kap Graphics, Inc., and Larry Fern.   more »
